I grew up in a creative household. My mother was a weaver, and trained in dress design. She taught me to knit, sew and to be creative with fabric and thread from a very early age. For a while she had a shop next door to our house, and taught weaving and other textile crafts. I had access to a huge studio full of fabric, yarns and equipment throughout my teens.

I never had any formal training in art or textiles, but my home has always been filled with projects in progress. A couple of years ago I bought an embroidery machine, to embellish the clothes I sew for myself and for my three daughters. But I quickly moved from using purchased designs to digitising my own artwork, and so Flowerdog Designs was born.

My family is Swedish, and my designs are influenced by a Scandinavian aesthetic. My range of designs is expanding fast and I have plans for many exciting things in the future. I especially like designs that are part of a whole project, so you can create a finished, useable item. But I also love to see what you make with my designs, so I try to create them to be as versatile as possible.

Please feel free to show off your Flowerdog makes in our Facebook Group. It’s also the place to find out about free designs and forthcoming offers and challenges.
